Ordering Pizza in The 1970’s

In December 1974, computer scientists Jerome Jackson and John Eulenberg, directors of Michigan State University’s Artificial Intelligence Laboratory launched a new talking computer. Their first venture? Enabling Donal Sherman, a sufferer of Moebius Syndrome – which causes speech impairments among other disabilities – to order pizza over the phone.
